So - the turquoise looks filmy to me - hence the name.  There are multiple layers of paint which add to the texture and filminess.  The painting leads you in and then makes you follow its lead...it's kind of bossy that way,

Gothic Quarter - Barcelona 

The walls of ancient cities carry with them character, aged materials, and beautiful muted colors.  The Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, Spain is a warren of narrow streets bedecked with imprints, designs and hues that reflect centuries of use and wonder.  This painting  celebrates the mystery of the old building walls in the meandering, narrow streets of this beautiful, unique city.
