Standing Tall

This painting can be viewed vertically or horizontally.  However, it totally changes character as a horizantal.  At that point, I would probably want to call it More Cowbell.   Let me know if you get that reference... :o)

Balancing Act

Today's painting is a balancing act between large and small shapes, hard/soft - lost and found edges, color vs. white space, etc., etc. - the usual components when working abstractly...  At any rate, it works for me!  :o)

Daybreak Diptych 

Welcome to Dual Daybreak Diptych - try saying that three times quickly - or even once! The heavily textured hillsides are complete with transparent washes on heavy Indian rag watercolor paper.   The Diptych can work in either direction - so once again it is like getting four paintings in one!  Here is the first view:

Heralding Daybreak

The rocky hillside in this piece is heavily textured with coarse molding paste and is painted on a heavy Indian rag paper.  Daybreak is being heralded by a lone vanguard.  Layers of transparent acrylics cover the landscape.  Or - perhaps it says something different to you...
