Day 28 - 30 Paintings - 30 Days - January, 2016

Lemuria

Lemuria is the name of a hypothetical lost land deemed to be located in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.  It was thought that the continent sank beneath the ocean as a result of a major geologic event such as a pole shift.

For whatever reason, this painting seemed to choose its own underwater name.

Day 22 - 30 Paintings - 30 Days - January, 2016

Color Cascades

As parts of the country become buried under record-breaking snow, it is helpful to remember that cascades of color-laden flowers will one day return when winter melts away.

The painting is heavily textured and laden with color - meant to bring a joyful nod of hope to the future .

Day 11 - 30 Paintings - 30 Days - January, 2016

Sedona Vortex

Today brings a heavily textured, somewhat ethereal depiction of a Sedona vortex. As a landscape it underwent a few iterations before it found its comfort level.  The use of coarse molding paste give it its rough surface.  The rest of the painting rather painted itself.
